The food was spectacular, the cocktails divine, the SCUBA and snorkeling were majestic, the hiking was amazing, the sailing superb, the games of CAH and Mexican Train Dominoes and Chess and Shut the Box and Uno were so memorable the birthday/graduation celebration was beyond our wildest expectations - and yet, what we will all remember with greatest affection, love ad admiration is how the two of you approached each moment with such care, thoughtfulness and genuine, heartfelt dedication. 

And the cherry on the chocolate mousse and apple crumble bakes was also being able to share our stories, our unique holiday celebrations and such joy and laughter together. We are forever grateful - thank you!!

Of course GRATITUDE was our theme this week of Thanksgiving…BUT, you don’t realize that FREEDOM was also a them. 

In this crazy world of Covid-19, people across the world have felt helpless, scared, alone, burdened. You gave us the freedom to forget about it for a week! We felt free and safe and full of fresh air. 

Living in your world in the USVI on your fabulous boat was nothing less than spectacular. 

Thank you for delicious food with a warm smile, patience with new and old Scuba divers, games, pasta making, giggles, new drinks, teaching us how to make them, slaying lobster and eating them, sailing, sharing island information, and more, more, more.

April 13 - 20, 2019

Where to begin? This is our 2nd time chartering with this crew and both Taylor and Margaret are absolute rockstars. We didn’t think it could get any better than last year, but it did. 

Just like last year, the journey began when Taylor met us at the taxi drop-off to greet us and retrieve our bags. After a long flight, it was nice to see the crews smiling faces. 

Once onboard, our peaceful mornings were spent lounging around, listening to calming music, and taking in the beautiful sights of the islands. 

Lunch and snacks were always plentiful and provided on time. Dinners and desserts were amazing. Margaret’s pizza was some of the best we ever had and came at a perfect time since we had a long day and needed something quick. Their special island drinks were also all excellent. The careful attention to detail, such as the chocolate shaving on top of the mudslide, did not go unnoticed. 

The crew made sure beds were made quickly/daily, dishes were cleared quickly, and the cabins kept tidy and wiped down (during a world wide pandemic). 

As a family, we love to dive: Taylor and Margaret once again proved to be exceptional diver leaders. Margaret’s outstanding ability to navigate reefs aided us in returning effortlessly to the boat each time we dove. We saw lots of octopi and seahorses, which were highlights for all of us.  Margaret led us to a hidden underwater merry-go-round horse that our kids LOVED. 

Taylor always found us the calmest bays to sleep in and everybody slept soundly. 

Island Hoppin’ is an amazing boat with lots of water activities and hidden secrets. The AC was key to getting a good nights sleep on the really hot and muggy nights. 

You know it’s been an amazing week when you tear up parting ways. Taylor and Margaret’s love for the islands and sharing all their favorite spots is obvious from start to finish. 

We cannot wait to pierce the seas with them again!

We cannot thank you enough for bringing us such a sense of wonder, gratitude, faith and utter joy in a time when we desperately needed it! We loved every single minute of our time with Taylor and Margaret on Island Hoppin’  - from the AC at night, the iced coffee in the morning, the dives and epic lobster hunting, floating tacos, The Longboard, cauliflower mashed potatoes, to Roco’s biggest piece of chocolate cake ever - fitting for an almost 16 year old! 

I don’t think we will ever get tired of this beautiful place or of following Taylor and Margaret around wherever they want to lead us! We are already counting the days until we can come back and continue our exploring and adventures. Mason will be practicing waking up before 10am and his TACO CAT skills in the meantime…

We had a fantastic week vacationing on the White House (Lagoon 500). 

Taylor and Margaret were awesome...considerate, thoughtful, and fun. We snorkeled, hiked, paddle boarded, kayaked, went scuba diving, sightseeing, sailed (Taylor is a great Captain), and wakeboarded. 

Margaret cooked us amazing meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Her food was delicious. Margaret and Taylor made this one of our best family vacations. We can’t wait to come back.

Thank you so much for everything, it was soooooo much fun. I loved everything we did, especially the skiing and goat calling and helping me with my shark fear (but now I’m scared of walking on a beach with coconut trees). The food was so good, I don’t know how you ever made this food because it is literally the best food I’ve ever tasted. You guys played a big part in making this week so fun and always made us all laugh. It has been such a fun week and it is largely due to you guys. 

Wow, what an amazing trip. We truly enjoyed ourselves and all the adventures. You guys made the vacation much more memorable. The mechanics of the trip were fine, but what made it a family memory was you guys. I’m sure you realize this but you become a big part of many families. Adventures with the Hice’s - Part 3! 

What another fantastic trip in the USVI’s onboard the Island Hoppin’! It never seems possible that we are able to surpass the trip we had before - but somehow you accomplished the BEST dives, the BEST dinners, the BEST cocktails & coffee yet again! 

I feel like the boys are getting moderately better at pasta making and lobster hunting. Although Rocco was fired from kitchen duties, I think twice. He will work on his interpersonal skills with Mason so that next time we can trust them in the kitchen unsupervised - let’s hope! 

Lobster tempura, sea bass, pancakes, egg burritos kept us fat & happy! Here’s to missing the bad weather and to smooth sailing for the rest of the season!

Michael: Perfecting the sea scooters, and spooking the nurse shark to scare fellow divers.

Erin: My EMT exemplary services (thanks Margaret!), and adaptive snorkeling for the disabled (again, thanks Margaret!)

Shelly: As the mermaid of the group, I enjoyed diving and snorkeling best of all.

Anthony: By far the best vacation ever! Margaret’s cuisine (crab cakes my fav) and Taylor’s expertise with all else.

Ellen: loved both of your beautiful smiles, fellowship, and bonding with us, made this an extraordinary vacation.

Taylor and Margaret,

We absolutely love “Island Hoppin’” and it made for the perfect home for our graduation celebration. 

You were the best hosts from the diving to the fabulous meals and even getting us through the “Covid Scare”. 

We will always be grateful that you found a spot of availability for our family during these crazy times. The girls have had to sacrifice so much to this pandemic, they will now have a lifetime of memories from this week to offset their sacrifices. 

Quinn made lots of animal friends and improved her bartending skills. Ashlyn became a diver! And we all learned how to properly celebrate a sunset with the conch and a cocktail! We pray God will continue to bless you both on your amazing adventure and keep you both safe and forever young and happy.
